We made it through the 2nd week of fifth grade. I hope the students enjoyed it as much as I did! In order to give you a better idea of what’s to come in 5th grade, I will post on Friday’s what you can expect the kids to be learning in the upcoming week. In math, we will be discussing squaring and unsquaring numbers & prime factorization. At the end of the week, we will be reviewing for our first progress check of the year! In writing, we will be starting memoirs. In reading, we will start to read the book “Journey” by Patricia MacLachlan to focus on comprehension, determining the most important parts, and using evidence from the text to support our reasoning’s.
Below are some anchor charts we made as a class to help support our learning and use as our “2nd teacher” in our classroom. Please check them out and discuss them with your kids.
Thanks and have a fantastic weekend!
