I look forward to seeing you all at open house tomorrow night! Open house schedule is as follows:
6:30-7:00 PM PTO meeting in auditorium
7:00-7:30 Principal Welcome & Staff Introduction
7:30-8:00 Classroom Presentation session 1
8:00-8:30 Classroom Presentation session 2
In math today, the students learned how to find the mean of a set of a set of data. They experimented to collect reaction time data. They found statistical landmarks and estimate individual reaction times. It was a lot of fun to watch them interact in groups and with partners. Tonight’s homework will require an adult and another family member. The kids will be testing YOUR reaction time. Good luck and have fun 🙂
In science we have been working on our shadows and understanding how our shadows change based on the movement of the earth. In order to make sure the students are truly understanding this concept, they had to make their own “shadow man” or “shadow woman.” They had to decide what time they wanted it to be, draw the appropriate shadow with correct length and direction. They needed to draw a compass to direct their shadows. Students did a great job with this activity. Please see picture below. They will also be out on display for tomorrow’s open house.
Thanks and have a great night!
